Looking for an Eco-friendly car? Well you’ve come to the right place because if you stick around, I’ll inform you on the top greenest cars of 2019!
Keep in mind that we ranked these cars based off of energy efficiency, not just range of the battery.
2019 Hyundai Ioniq Electric

Coming in at the number one spot on our list is the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Electric due to it’s EPA rated 136 MPGe, which calculates out to 33.7 kwh for one gallon of gas. Overall, the Ioniq has rated best compared to other cars and bests anything produced by Tesla so far.
The only downside is the 20 kwh battery pack that is rated only for a 124 mile range. But don’t be discouraged by this because according to Hyundai, bigger battery packs are coming in the future.
2019 Tesla Model 3

Although that the Hyundai Ioniq is the best on our list, it may be very hard to find one so that’s why the next best option would be the 2019 Tesla Model 3. The EPA has rated the Tesla Model 3 at 133 MPGe, which is only just a small amount lower than the Ioniq. Also the Tesla was rated at having a range of 310 miles, which is more than double that of the Ioniq’s range.
Overall, the efficiency and range of this Tesla Model 3 are in line with what modern electric cars should be but can’t be surpassed at energy management, which has made it hard for other automakers to compete.
2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV

This 2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV has a 119 MPGe rating and a 238 mile rating, which are both admirable, but Chevy has announced that the 2020 version of this car will be able to manage up to 259 miles of range from the same battery configuration in the 2019 model. Using this same 60 kwh battery should also boost its MPGe rating even higher which is pretty impressive by itself!
