Hydrogen cars have been struggling over the past to be involved in the expansion of greener electric cars but they may still of found a role to play in today’s market
Bentley has even started considering using these hydrogen fuel cells to give their SUV’s a larger towing range. This is due to the fact that batteries would have to become too big and heavy for SUV’s and pickups to have an increased towing range.

Automakers are now leaning towards and even creating electric pickups which are supposed to have a significant towing capacity. A brand called Rivian has an up and coming pickup called the R1T which is supposed to be able to tow up to 11,000 pounds. Its release date is scheduled for 2021 but will cost a hefty $70,000 to start.
But in the end, hydrogen fuel cells have the potential to run alongside electric cars, with those cells as a possible upgrade for buyers that are willing to pay extra if they want more range. Also to those who don’t mind giving up space for the hydrogen tanks.
